Some thoughts that wafted through me not so long ago….
Value Aged 14 vs Value Aged 50
Value “feels” different to each of us.
My Asics (“proper” trainers that help my ankles when walking) are hugely valuable to me. Unsupported “fashion” trainers are not.
My 14 year old nephew disagrees – he wouldn’t be seen dead in my Asics – he needs to look cool at all times, he doesn’t care about his joints. Being cool is very valuable to him.
One day soon someone will probably prove to him how valuable his Nikes are as he embarks on his first romantic encounters.
I bet you he’s wearing Asics 30 years from now though.
What we believe is valuable changes with time, so be sure to keep checking in.
Since I gave up hope…
…I feel so much better.
I think it’s because it lets me spend more time enjoying the present than hoping for a better future.
Which makes sense doesn’t it?
The only time that ever exists is the present.
The past never has and future never will exist.
And if the present is all we’ve got why spend time anywhere else?
