Are you paying for the wrong thing?

Are you paying for the tools rather than the conversations?

In my profession it appears that fees due are related to products/accounts/investments being set up.

But all of those are just tools of the trade aren’t they?

Aren’t the conversations that proceed the selection of the tools the most valuable bit of the process?

How much are you paying for them?

When you talk to your builder / dentist / doctor you talk about what you’re looking to achieve, your objectives, what you want the end result to be.

You might briefly talk about the tools they will use, but you certainly don’t pay for them.

You pay for the desired outcome, not how it’s achieved.

Most of those engaging with IFA / investment firms are paying for the wrong thing.
